Improving Sleep: Bed Cover Care, Room Setup, and Natural Wake-up Methods

Posted on July 6, 2024

Sleep is very important. I often struggle with whether to go to bed or not. As I get older, it becomes harder to stay up late, and if I stay up all night, the following days are ruined because my brain doesn’t function properly. My record during university was staying up for two days, and it took three days to recover from it. I don’t want to experience that again, so it’s generally better to go to bed. However, sometimes it’s necessary to stay up a little later.

The quality of sleep is crucial, not just the duration. Sometimes I sleep for five hours and feel refreshed, but other times I sleep for eight hours and feel very tired.

The quality of sleep is greatly influenced by your bed, which should not contain synthetic materials. It is also very important to make your bed every morning and use a bed cover. The bed cover plays a significant role because our air is actually very polluted and dusty. It’s essential to keep your bed linens and pillows clean. The bed cover helps ensure that our sheets and pillows remain clean, thus improving your sleep quality. If you want to understand how dusty our environment is, just look at our home lab servers or gaming computers, which quickly gather dust. Servers or computers that run 24/7 get covered in dust within a month. That’s why we need to cover our beds to prevent dust from accumulating on our sheets and pillows.

Another important factor when going to bed is the room temperature. It is advisable to keep the room cooler. I also recommend using blackout curtains to make the room as dark as possible.

For waking up, I suggest using a light-up alarm clock that simulates sunlight. This helps you wake up faster and without any issues. This way, you wake up naturally rather than in the middle of a deep sleep.

All these regular practices can help make going to bed easier. If you have trouble falling asleep, it may be helpful to use melatonin. Melatonin is natural, but it should not be used for long periods or in excessive amounts.

Do not forget to make your bed after you wake up and use a bed cover.
